Tym Smith has been in the Early Care and Education profession for over 20 years. His career started as an After-School Teacher. He has also taught Private Kindergarten, been a Director of a center with over 250 children, and has worked as a Multi-Unit Manager for one of the largest Early Care and Education providers in Texas.

Tym studied Early Childhood Education at Texas Baptist University. In addition to being a member of TLCCA, NAEYC, NCCA, and NAA, Tym served as an NAEYC Validator for several years.

Tym currently serves on the board of directors for the Association for Early Learning Leaders. Tym served as President of the Texas Licensed Child Care Association in 2011 and 2013. In 2012, Tym received the Ruth Blessing Award for his work in early education.

Tym is the owner of Early Care and Education, a private preschool and after school program with locations in Coppell, Southlake, Arlington and Flower Mound.

For over 15 years, Tym has trained managers and staff on multiple topics in the field.

With a strong focus on staff motivation and advocacy for young children, Tym’s trainings are full of energy and surprises.
